Battery Won't Charge — Start Here
A WorCraft 20V battery that won't charge is usually caused by one of a handful of common issues — most of which you can resolve on the job without sending anything in for service. Work through these checks in order before contacting support.
Check 1: Charger Connection
- Make sure the charger is fully plugged into a working outlet. Test the outlet with another device.
- Reseat the battery pack in the charger — press it down firmly until it clicks. A loose connection is the most common cause of a "no charge" symptom.
- Check the charger indicator light. If it's solid red, the pack is charging. If it's flashing or off entirely, continue below.
Check 2: Battery Temperature
WorCraft 20V batteries have a built-in thermal protection circuit. If the pack is too hot (just pulled from heavy use) or too cold (stored in a cold vehicle overnight), the charger will not begin charging until the pack reaches a safe temperature range of approximately [X]°F to [X]°F.
- Too hot: Let the pack cool at room temperature for 15–30 minutes, then retry.
- Too cold: Bring the pack indoors and let it warm to room temperature before charging.
Check 3: Battery Contact Condition
Inspect the battery terminals and charger contacts for dust, debris, or corrosion — especially common in stone and tile fab environments. Wipe contacts with a dry cloth. Do not use water or solvents on battery contacts.
Check 4: Deep Discharge
A battery that has been fully depleted and left discharged for an extended period may enter a protection state that prevents normal charging. If the charger shows no response after 5 minutes, try a different WorCraft charger if available. If the pack still won't charge, it may need replacement.
Check 5: Charger or Battery Fault
If the charger indicator flashes in an error pattern (see your charger manual for flash codes), either the charger or battery has detected a fault. Try a known-good battery in the same charger, and a known-good charger with the problem battery, to isolate which component has failed.
